Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected for the first time this season during Monday night's 116-113 win over the Phoenix Suns, ESPN reports. It was the 31st ejection of his career, counting the playoffs, ESPN says.

With 10 minutes left in the third quarter, Green was knocked to the floor while defending Suns center Khaman Maluach under the basket, ESPN reports. Green got up, grabbed Maluach and threw him to the court, Yahoo Sports reports. That drew his first technical foul.

Phoenix forward Dillon Brooks then ran in to confront Green, and the two had to be separated, ESPN reports. After a review, officials called a double technical on Green and Brooks. That second technical meant an automatic ejection for Green, ESPN says.

"I was just trying to de-escalate it," Brooks said, according to ESPN. "He was just tweaking all game."

"That's just the greatest NBA basketball players on earth competing," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, ESPN reports. "Nothing serious happened." Green did not speak to reporters after the game, ESPN says.

The Warriors trailed 67-57 when Green left, ESPN reports. They then outscored Phoenix by 13 points to win their fifth game in a row.

Curry scored 34 points, ESPN reports. "He lit a fire in all of us," Curry said of Green. "We had to respond. I'm glad we did."

Backup center Charles Bassey had a career-high 19 points off the bench, Yahoo Sports reports. Devin Booker led the Suns with 26 points, Yahoo Sports says.

Green finished with four points and four rebounds, Yahoo Sports reports. Yahoo Sports says the ejection could lead to a suspension in the coming days. The cited outlets do not report any decision by the league.
