Apple said Monday it will host a "Pro and tell" event in Los Angeles on October 28, Reuters reported. It is the latest in a series of product launches this fall, Reuters reported, after the September launch of a foldable iPhone and last week's smart home showcase.

Apple has invited press and influencers to get a first look at new devices, Engadget reported, and the event is said to be an all-day affair. MacRumors reported that, like the October 13 announcement, it will not be a traditional keynote. Those not invited will see the news through press releases on October 28, MacRumors reported.

Apple has not named any products. The event is expected to feature Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro, according to Bloomberg News, Reuters reported. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that Apple will show touchscreen MacBooks, more Macs with the M6 chip and an iPad mini with an OLED display, Engadget reported.

The new high-end MacBook Pro models are expected to bring two firsts for the Mac line, an OLED display and a touchscreen, MacRumors reported. Touch will be an extra option alongside the trackpad and keyboard, and the laptops are expected to be lighter than current models, MacRumors reported. Both MacRumors and Engadget reported that the touchscreen models are expected to use the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Engadget reported that Apple is also expected to refresh the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac with the M6 chip, which debuted in August in the latest Mac mini.

The launches come amid efforts by chief executive John Ternus to speed up product development and simplify the company's structure, according to analysts, Reuters reported. Apple typically holds a software-focused developers conference in June and fall events centered on iPhones and other devices, Reuters reported.
