Bluesky's experimental Attie tool, which launched earlier this year as a way to build custom feeds with AI, can now create small social apps such as games, polls and quizzes, TechCrunch and The Verge reported.

Bluesky announced the feature Thursday at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, TechCrunch reported. Users type a prompt, and Attie builds the app, which can then be shared as its own website, The Verge reported.

The Verge said a simple poll its reporter made took a few minutes to generate. The Attie website highlights examples such as a Flappy Bird clone, a drum machine, a quiz and an idle clicker game, each with a custom link on the attie.site domain and credit for its creator, The Verge reported. The apps it tried were "pretty lightweight novelties," The Verge said.

The apps live on the AT Protocol that powers Bluesky and other decentralized social apps, and creators are connected to their protocol identity, TechCrunch reported. Users can bring their own AI model or use open-weight options, the outlet said.

"Vibe coding today is kind of a single-user, solo experience," CEO Toni Schneider said in an interview at Disrupt, TechCrunch reported. "And what I want to be able to do is build together or build for a group of people, and that's what this product does." He described Attie as "social vibe coding or vibe coding for your community," TechCrunch said.

Bluesky COO Rose Wang said the tool comes with Bluesky's audience built in, TechCrunch reported. "What makes Attie so interesting is that it comes with the Bluesky distribution, so it doesn't stand alone," she said.

Bluesky has 47 million registered users but has seen engagement decline as some users returned to X, TechCrunch reported. Schneider said support for private data, the top request from developers, is in alpha testing and should roll out by the end of the year, the outlet said.

What we know: Attie can now turn a text prompt into a small shareable app tied to a user's Bluesky identity.
What we don't: How many people will use it and whether it will lift activity on Bluesky.
