Patient Zero gives Taylor Swift her 12th Streaming Songs No. 1
Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" also topped Billboard's Streaming Songs chart, giving her a 12th No. 1 there with 34.5 million U.S. streams. Her album The Life of a Showgirl jumped back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 173,000 units. Swift also tied BTS for the most No. 1 songs on the Billboard Global 200.
Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" is piling up more chart wins beyond the Hot 100, where it opened at No. 1 this week. The song also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Streaming Songs chart dated October 10, Billboard reported. It is her 12th No. 1 on that chart.
The song drew 34.5 million U.S. streams in the week ending October 1. That is the biggest weekly total for any song since two Drake tracks debuted in late May, Billboard said. Only Drake, with 22, has more Streaming Songs No. 1s than Swift, who first topped the chart with "Shake It Off" in 2014.
The song also led the Billboard Global 200. It is Swift's eighth No. 1 there, tying BTS for the most since that chart began in 2020, Hoodline reported, citing Billboard. Her song "Cleveland!," a tribute to her husband Travis Kelce's hometown area in Ohio, reached No. 2 on that global chart.
The album is back on top as well, since The Life of a Showgirl jumped from No. 21 to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, its 13th week at No. 1, Music Times and The Blast reported. It earned 173,000 equivalent units, up 619 percent from the week before, and streaming made up 136,000 of those units.
The boost came from The Encore, a deluxe edition of the album released September 25 with four previously unreleased songs. All four landed in the Hot 100's top five, with "Choosin' Texas" by Ella Langley the only other song there, American Songwriter noted.
Olivia Rodrigo's latest album is No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and Langley's album Dandelion is No. 3, Music Times reported.
The outlets describe one milestone differently, however. Hoodline says Swift now has 74 top-10 hits on the Hot 100, the most for any woman. American Songwriter calls the 74 her top-10 debuts and says only Drake has more.
What we know: Swift leads the Hot 100, Streaming Songs, Global 200 and Billboard 200 this week.
What we don't: Whether "Patient Zero" can stay No. 1 on the next chart, dated October 17.
Where outlets agree Music Times and The Blast both report that The Life of a Showgirl returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 173,000 units, up 619 percent.
Where they differ Hoodline says Swift's 74 Hot 100 top-10 hits are the most for any woman, while American Songwriter describes the 74 as top-10 debuts and says only Drake has more.
