Netflix has renewed The Hunting Wives for a third season, and Season 2 has not even come out yet. The streamer ordered eight more episodes, Deadline reported Wednesday. Season 2 premieres on Thursday, Nov. 26.

The thriller stars Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman. It is based on the bestselling novel by May Cobb. Snow plays Sophie O'Neil, a woman who moves with her family from Boston to Texas. There she grows close to a socialite, Margo Banks, played by Åkerman, and is pulled into obsession, seduction and murder, according to the show's synopsis cited by Collider.

Rebecca Cutter created the series and runs it. "Buckle up, because Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted," she said in a statement to Deadline.

The show was first developed at Starz before Netflix picked it up, Deadline said. It has been a solid hit. Season 1 spent five weeks in Netflix's global Top 10 and peaked at No. 2. It reached the Top 10 in 40 countries and hit No. 1 in 10 of them. It has drawn more than 35 million views since July 2025.

The early renewal stands out. Collider noted that Netflix has canceled several shows this year even after they made its Top 10, including the Duffer brothers' sci-fi series The Boroughs and the drama Ransom Canyon. Collider said The Hunting Wives is breaking that mold.

Season 1 holds an 81% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, Collider said. Netflix has not said when Season 3 will stream. Collider said a 2027 release is expected but not confirmed.

What we know: Netflix ordered an eight-episode third season, and Season 2 arrives Nov. 26.

What we don't: When Season 3 will begin streaming.
