Luka Doncic had 42 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat 138-117 on Monday night, the AP reports. It came one night after he scored 45 points in a win over the Toronto Raptors, as NewsHabit reported on Monday.

Doncic has now scored at least 37 points in five straight games, the AP reports. He shot 14 of 24 from the field and 8 of 10 from the foul line, the Sun Sentinel says. Austin Reaves added 27 points for the Lakers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Heat with 30 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, the Sun Sentinel reports. Klay Thompson scored 19 and Bam Adebayo had 16.

"We're not playing hard enough. We've got to play hard," Antetokounmpo said after the game, according to the Sun Sentinel. "Right now, we don't trust one another. We're not giving that extra effort."

"It's not good enough," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of his team's defense, the Sun Sentinel reports. "We need to be just a whole lot more consistent defensively."

The Lakers led 79-72 at halftime, the Sun Sentinel reports. The 79 points tied the most the Heat have given up in a first half in their 39 seasons. Los Angeles pulled away in the third quarter.

The Lakers improved to 6-2, while the Heat fell to 2-5, the Sun Sentinel says. The game opened a five-game West Coast trip for Miami, the AP reports. The Heat play the Clippers on Wednesday, and the Lakers visit Sacramento.
