"Days of Our Lives" actor Robert Kelker-Kelly died of arteriosclerotic heart disease, the Los Angeles Times and Fox News report. That means the blood vessels in his heart had grown thick and stiff. The St. Charles County medical examiner in Missouri confirmed the cause to the outlets. His death was ruled natural, the outlets report.

Kelker-Kelly, 62, died on October 3, the outlets report. He had worked as a pilot later in life. His wife picked him up from the Spirit of St. Louis Airport that evening, Fox News reports, citing a police report. On the drive home, he had pain in his chest and left arm and asked her to pull over so he could be sick.

He said he did not need to go to the hospital and asked to go home to lie down, Fox News reports. At home, he asked his wife for an aspirin. When she came back, he was not breathing. She called 911 and began CPR, the outlets report. "Life-saving measures were administered but were unsuccessful," police said, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Kelker-Kelly was best known for playing Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives" from 1992 to 1995, the outlets report. He appeared in more than 586 episodes in that role, the Los Angeles Times reports. He also had roles on "Another World" and played Stavros Cassadine on "General Hospital," the outlet reports.

The medical examiner's report backs up what police and paramedics had already said, the Los Angeles Times reports.
