Thunder lose Williams and Wallace for months
The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace for months after both need surgery, according to the New York Post. Williams dislocated his left ankle and fractured his fibula, and Wallace tore his left labrum. Both may miss most or all of the regular season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder received grim injury news on Monday, according to the New York Post. General manager Sam Presti said All-Star wing Jalen Williams dislocated his left ankle and fractured his fibula on a drive late in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Paycom Center.
Fourth-year guard Cason Wallace, an All-Defensive selection a year ago, has a torn left labrum. Both players will have surgery and will miss most of the regular season and potentially all of it, the Post reported, citing ESPN. Presti did not give a return date and praised Williams as an elite competitor.
Williams was stretchered off after landing awkwardly between defenders. The blow hits a Thunder team chasing another title after a Western Conference finals loss last season. Wallace was hurt in the first quarter before Williams went down late.
