Starbucks is launching a Black Cat Frappuccino at select US stores on Thursday, according to Food Network and Delish. The Halloween drink is topped with whipped cream and chocolate cat ears, the outlets reported.

Starbucks describes the drink as "combining a rich cocoa flavor with a Creme Frappuccino beverage to create decadent brownie-like notes," Food Network reported. Delish called it a chocolate cake-flavored Creme Frappuccino. The drink comes in grande size only, Food Network said.

A Food Network writer who tried it early said it tastes like a Brooklyn blackout cake in liquid form, "very sweet and rich." She said she liked it but felt a bit too full by the end. The ears were a fun candy nod to the holiday, she wrote.

Not everyone was a fan. Some Reddit users who tried it early, including baristas, posted harsh reviews, Food Network reported. "Hated it. But the ears with whip cream tastes good," one wrote. Others agreed it was best in small amounts, the outlet said.

Starbucks is also launching the Venti Black Night Cookie on Thursday, Food Network and Delish reported. Delish said it is a large, shareable black cocoa cookie with caramel fudge pieces and chunks of caramelized white chocolate. It will be sold for a limited time at participating US stores, Food Network reported.

Fans online were excited when the drink was announced. "Why is it the cutest thing I've ever seen," one person wrote on Instagram, according to Delish.

Starbucks' Halloween merchandise went on sale earlier, Delish reported. The lineup includes a pumpkin-shaped black cat mug, a cauldron mug, a glow-in-the-dark black cat cold cup and a Bearista plush in a black cat costume, Delish said.

The drink and cookie will only be around for a limited time, Food Network reported.
