Lidl US is recalling one lot of its Gelatelli Coffee & Vanilla Gelato with Coffee Sauce & Cookie Pieces because it may be contaminated with listeria, USA Today and WSOC-TV reported, citing the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall was started after routine lab testing found Listeria monocytogenes in a sample, WSOC-TV reported. No illnesses have been reported.

The gelato was sent to Lidl stores between July 19 and October 15. USA Today listed Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, DC. The FDA announced the recall on October 17, according to USA Today.

The recalled product comes in a 16-ounce clear plastic container with a brown lid. Shoppers can check the bottom of the tub for the UPC code 4 0564897 22458, lot number 085261 and a best-by date of March 26, 2028.

Listeria can cause listeriosis, an infection that is especially dangerous for young children, older adults, pregnant women and people with weak immune systems. It can be fatal, WSOC-TV reported. Healthy people may have short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, stomach pain and diarrhea, USA Today reported, citing the FDA. Infections during pregnancy can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

Customers should throw the gelato away or return it to any Lidl store for a full refund. A receipt is not required. People with questions can call Lidl US Customer Care at 844-747-5435, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time.
