Lululemon and Danish fashion house Ganni are launching a 22-piece collection inspired by dance on Oct. 15, Drapers and FashionNetwork reported.

The Ganni x Lululemon line includes women's clothing, accessories and footwear, both outlets said. FashionNetwork said the styles are designed to move between workouts and everyday wear. Prices range from 35 to 260 British pounds, Drapers reported.

The collection draws on 1980s dance movies, both outlets reported. "Eighties dance movies have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like such a natural starting point," said Ditte Reffstrup, Ganni's creative director, according to Drapers.

It mixes Lululemon's own fabrics, such as Nulu and Softstreme, with Ganni signatures like ruffle trims, bold color pairings and leopard print, Drapers and Elle reported. Elle said dance touches include boleros and leg warmers.

"What I love about this collection is its use of our technical materials combined with the iconic Ganni style," said Jonathan Cheung, Lululemon's global creative director, Drapers reported.

Cheung told Elle that Lululemon often asks new team members their favorite way to sweat. When he asked Reffstrup, she said dancing, Elle reported. "Dance has always been a big part of my life," said Reffstrup, who grew up in a family of dancers, according to Elle.

The brands marked the announcement with a campaign called "Joy is a power move," featuring actor Jennifer Beals, star of the 1983 film "Flashdance," and singer and dancer Mette, Drapers and Elle reported.

The collection will be sold online on both brands' websites and in some Lululemon and Ganni stores across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, Drapers said.
