Berkshire Hathaway has agreed to invest another $330 million in Bending Spoons, CNBC and Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

Bending Spoons will issue 10 million new shares to Berkshire at $33 each through a private sale, both outlets said. The deal brings Berkshire's stake in the company to 4%, according to a securities filing.

Shares of Bending Spoons soared 35% after the filing was made public, CNBC reported.

The new money follows Berkshire's $600 million investment in July, when the company went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange, both outlets said.

Bending Spoons is based in Milan, Italy, Bloomberg reported. It buys established tech companies and overhauls how they run to make them more profitable. Its portfolio includes AOL, Vimeo, Evernote, WeTransfer, Eventbrite and Airtable, Bloomberg said.

The investment gives Bending Spoons more money to buy other companies, Bloomberg reported. The deal still has to meet the usual closing conditions.

"Bending Spoons continuously evaluates M&A opportunities, and our pipeline remains strong," said Francesco Patarnello, the company's co-founder and head of business acquisitions, according to both outlets. M&A stands for mergers and acquisitions.

"We believe Berkshire Hathaway's investment reflects confidence in our team and Platform and will further enhance our financial flexibility and ability to pursue attractive acquisitions as part of our broader financing strategy," Patarnello said, CNBC reported.

The move is one of Berkshire's latest investment decisions under CEO Greg Abel, CNBC said. Abel took over from Warren Buffett, the company's founder and famous investor, at the start of the year.

Berkshire Hathaway is a large American company that owns many businesses and holds shares in others.
