Arsenal beat Lille 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium, Sky Sports and The Guardian reported. All three goals came in a short burst in the second half.

Arsenal struggled for an hour. Then Jurrien Timber broke through in the 64th minute, lifting a finish over the goalkeeper from a Noni Madueke pass, Sky Sports reported. Eberechi Eze added the second, helped by a slight deflection, from a pass by substitute Bukayo Saka. Saka then scored the third himself after quick passing with Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz.

Saka, Odegaard and Havertz all came off the bench after the opening goal. Saka needed only six minutes to score, Sky Sports said. Before the game, manager Mikel Arteta had challenged him to score "two or three goals per game," Sky Sports reported.

Arteta made five changes from the team that beat Leeds on Saturday, Sky Sports reported. Arsenal begin a run of eight games in 25 days. Lille did not register a shot on target. Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud got a warm welcome on his return as a Lille substitute.

The win extends Arsenal's run of league-phase wins in the competition to 14, The Guardian reported. That is three short of Bayern Munich's record. Arsenal have won 12 straight such games at home.

Before the game, Arsenal honored Ken Friar, the club's life president, whose death at age 92 was confirmed. The players wore black armbands. "The legacy that Ken is going to leave for this club is going to be forever," Arteta said, The Guardian reported.

What we know: Arsenal beat Lille 3-0 with three second-half goals and have now won 14 straight league-phase games.
What we don't: Whether Arsenal can match Bayern Munich's record of 17 straight wins.
