A moment during the San Francisco 49ers' 32-29 win at Seattle on Sunday became one of the most shared clips of the NFL weekend.

After a play, Seahawks cornerback Trevon Diggs was chirping at 49ers receiver Mike Evans, so Evans turned Diggs by the shoulder to get a look at the nameplate on his jersey before walking away, NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk reported. The New York Post said Diggs then took a swipe at Evans' face mask but was not called for a penalty.

Evans said after the game that he really had not known who it was. "I was blocking him to the whistle, and then he said something like, I'm 'doing extra,' or something like that," Evans said, according to Pro Football Talk, explaining that he had played against Diggs a few times and that they had always been cool with each other. "It should have been a penalty," he added.

Teammates enjoyed it. CBS Sports noted that Diggs once led the NFL in interceptions and signed a five-year, $97 million extension with Dallas, while Pro Football Talk reported that he had been on Seattle's practice squad until Saturday, which helped make the moment spread so widely online.

Evans also played a big role in the game itself. He finished with seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown, and the Post reported that he played through broken ribs in what Pro Football Talk called his best game in a 49ers uniform.

"Mike plays with an edge," 49ers tackle Trent Williams said, adding that the exchange "was pretty funny."

Evans signed a three-year, $42.5 million deal with San Francisco in the offseason, the Post said. The win kept the 49ers unbeaten at 5-0.

What we know: Evans checked Diggs' nameplate during the 49ers' 32-29 win and said afterward he had not recognized him.
What we don't: Whether the NFL will review the face mask swipe or fine either player for the exchange.
