Rockstar reveals six GTA VI radio stations and their DJs
Rockstar Games revealed six radio stations for Grand Theft Auto VI, with previews fans can hear now. Stars like Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen and Robyn are among the hosts, Pitchfork reported. The game comes out Nov. 19.
Rockstar Games has revealed the first six radio stations for Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated video games in years. Fans can listen to previews of each one on Rockstar's website now.
The game is set in Leonida, Rockstar's take on Florida, and comes out Nov. 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Rockstar says it will have the "biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet," Push Square reported.
The six stations cover a wide mix of music:
Cocoteo FM plays modern Latin music, from bachata to reggaeton. AfroBank FM plays African music, from older classics to amapiano. The Chamber 106.6 plays classic metal. Flash FM, a station from past games set in Vice City, plays pop. Dirty South Classics plays southern rap and hip-hop. Back Country Radio plays what Rockstar calls "renegade country."
Pitchfork reported that real stars host the stations. Bad Bunny and RaiNao host Cocoteo FM. Burna Boy and Palms Trax host AfroBank FM. Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer host The Chamber, and Robyn and model Alex Consani host Flash FM. Trick Daddy and Trina host Dirty South Classics, while Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey host Back Country Radio.
The previews include songs by Bad Bunny, Loretta Lynn, Asake, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Slayer, Charli XCX, MGMT and DJ Khaled, Game Informer reported.
The game will also have podcasts on demand for the first time. Players can listen to radio and podcasts while driving or on foot, using in-game headphones linked to their character's phone. Rockstar says more stations are coming.
In September, Rockstar shared details of the game's 34-song soundtrack, with original tracks from Travis Scott, Yung Lean and PinkPantheress.
What we know: Six stations and their hosts are public, with previews online.
What we don't: How many stations the full game will have.
Where outlets agree Pitchfork, Push Square and Game Informer all report the same six stations, Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics, ahead of the Nov. 19 release.
Where they differ Game Informer lists a Dirty South Classics preview track as "Like a Pimp Mix" by JefeEdai, while Push Square lists it as "Like A Pimp" by David Banner featuring Lil' Flip.
