Amazon-sold bed rails and camping showers recalled over death, fire risks
About 730 LandTale adult portable bed rails sold on Amazon are being recalled because users can get trapped and suffocate, federal safety regulators say. Separately, about 400 ZAREI camping shower sets sold on Amazon and Walmart.com are recalled because the heater can catch fire. Both companies offer full refunds.
Two products sold online are being recalled because they can cause serious injury or death, the Consumer Product Safety Commission says, as KUTV reported in a story carried by KATU.
The first is a bed rail for adults. YunHeng is recalling about 730 LandTale adult portable bed rails. A person can get trapped inside the rail or between the rail and the mattress. That creates a risk of death by suffocation, the CPSC says. Its notice adds that the rails break the federal safety standard for adult bed rails and lack required warning labels.
The rails have a white frame with black foam grips. Look for the LandTale name and SKU EBR001 on the box or the instruction manual. They sold on Amazon from February through June 2026 for about $43.
Stop using them now and contact YunHeng for a full refund. The company will ask buyers to cut off the foam grip, take the rail apart, write "RECALLED" on it and send a photo before throwing it away. No injuries have been reported.
The second product is a camping shower. Golden Resale is recalling about 400 ZAREI portable camping shower sets that come with a bucket and an immersion heater. The 1,500-watt heater can catch fire quickly if it is not fully under water.
The shower sets sold on Amazon.com and Walmart.com from February through August 2026 for about $60. Stop using them and contact Golden Resale for a full refund. The company will send a prepaid return package. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Buyers can check the CPSC's recall list at cpsc.gov.
What we know: About 1,130 units in two recalls, both with full refunds.
What we don't: How many buyers have the products at home.
Where outlets agree KATU and the CPSC notices both say no injuries have been reported from either product.
Where they differ The CPSC notice says the bed rails also violate the federal safety standard and lack required warning labels, while KATU's report describes only the entrapment risk.
