Jessica Chastain is not backing down about her TV show. In a new interview with Net-a-Porter's Porter magazine, published Monday, the actress said she still believes Apple TV made a mistake when it pulled her series The Savant just days before it was set to debut.

The Savant was supposed to premiere on Sept. 23, 2025. Apple postponed it after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. At the time, Apple said only that it would release the series "at a future date." Chastain said publicly back then that she and Apple were "not aligned" on the decision, Entertainment Weekly noted.

"I felt responsible to a lot of people, to all of the actors in the series... to the real person I played," Chastain told Porter. "I really had to go on record that I thought it was a mistake." She said she learned "it's OK to be honest" in a kind and respectful way, without fear of "never working again."

In the series, Chastain plays Jodi Goodwin, an investigator who goes undercover in online groups where white supremacists gather and sometimes plan attacks. She is also an executive producer. Creator Melissa James Gibson based it on a 2019 Cosmopolitan story titled "Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?"

Apple confirmed last month that the show will come out in spring 2027, Variety reported. No exact date has been set. Variety noted the new window falls after November's midterm elections. Apple did not respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment.

Chastain is also busy on the big screen. Her horror film Other Mommy opens in theaters Friday.
