Starbucks will roll out its holiday menu on Nov. 5, the company said Monday. The lineup includes a new Tiramisu Velvet Latte and Tiramisu Cold Brew, plus a new Apple Pomegranate Refresher, USA Today reported.

Longtime favorites are back too. The Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Sugar Cookie Latte and Gingerbread Chai return. New food items include a short rib grilled cheese and a turkey and stuffing sandwich.

The timing is notable. The announcement came about two weeks after Starbucks said it would close about 250 North American stores, USA Today reported. Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams announced those closures. The holiday menu is one of the chain's best-known traditions, and it lands as Starbucks trims its store count.

The Bearista cup is the wild card. The bear-shaped glass cup will return, Starbucks said, but it gave no date. Last year's version sold for about $30 and sold out in less than a day after its Nov. 6 release, USA Today reported.

A Winter Wonderland collection of cups and tumblers arrives Nov. 17. Red Cup Day returns later in the season, Starbucks said.

Here's the backstory. Starbucks introduced its red holiday cups in 1997, and the Peppermint Mocha joined the holiday lineup in 2002. In recent years, limited-edition cups have drawn crowds of their own, sometimes overshadowing the drinks.

Tip for regulars: Seasonal drinks often cost more than standard ones. Ordering a smaller size or using app rewards can keep the treat from adding up.

What we know: The holiday menu starts Nov. 5, with new tiramisu drinks and returning classics.
What we don't: When the Bearista cup will go on sale, and how many will be made.
