Anthropic filed an amended Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, adding its third-quarter financial results, CNBC reports. The first version of the prospectus, released last week, covered results only through the first half of the year.

The company made roughly $17 billion in revenue in the third quarter, up about 1,127% from a year earlier, CNBC reports. It reported a net loss of $23.29 billion for the quarter, CNBC says.

For the nine months to September 30, revenue was $33.24 billion, CNBC reports. Anthropic reported a $104 billion net loss for that period, though most of it came from changes in the fair value of convertible notes and derivative liabilities, CNBC says.

Growth slowed from quarter to quarter. Third-quarter revenue rose around 47% from the second quarter, down from 144% growth in the second quarter, CNBC reports.

"We do not expect our revenue will continue to grow at comparable rates, and we cannot assure you that it will continue to grow at all," the prospectus says, according to the Register.

Anthropic said it has purchase commitments and lease agreements with a total committed spend of about $895.4 billion, "substantially all of which is related to compute and infrastructure," CNBC reports. The Register reports that additional estimated payments could push the total beyond $1 trillion.

SiliconANGLE reports that the company took a $5 billion charge in the quarter because it had to buy computing hardware at a premium on short notice. That left Anthropic with a $536 million operating loss for the quarter, SiliconANGLE says.

Anthropic has not yet disclosed how much it plans to raise in its public offering, SiliconANGLE reports.

What we know: The amended filing adds third-quarter results to the prospectus.
