Heidi Klum dressed as a giant replica of her own hand for her Halloween party in New York on Saturday night, Vogue and the BBC report. The BBC describes the costume as a giant, bloodied and severed hand. Klum, 53, called it her own chopped-off "left hand," the BBC reports.
Her costume designer, Mike Marino, led the work with his ProRenFX team, Vogue reports. "Mike has all of these scans of my body, so he was able to use those to create an exact replica of my hand," Klum said. "We even recreated my engagement ring and wedding band, as well as the little tattoo on my finger."
"It took a lot of hands putting this hand together," Klum said on the red carpet, according to the BBC. "I think about 10 or 20 hands." She said she had never seen a person walking around as a hand.
Klum began thinking about the idea about a year ago, before her 2025 party, when she dressed as Medusa, Vogue reports. She had to work out how she could move and walk inside the hand. "The hand had to be large enough to make the impact I wanted," she said.
The party was held at the Cathédrale restaurant in Manhattan, Vogue reports. It was the party's 25th anniversary, the outlets report. Guests included Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, who dressed as the twins from "The Shining," the BBC says. Jade Thirlwall came as a stone angel statue, and Tramell Tillman wore detailed face makeup and prosthetics.
What we know: Klum went as a lifelike giant hand, built from scans of her own.
