Apple is bringing Apple Intelligence to China with iOS 27.3, The Verge and 9to5Mac report. The company announced the plan on its Chinese newsroom website, as reported by MacRumors. The full iOS 27.3 release is planned for December.

The Verge says the tools will show up first in a test version of iOS 27.3, set to launch on Wednesday, November 4. 9to5Mac sees it a bit differently. It says Apple has confirmed only that testing in China will start that day. That may not be the day the first test version comes out.

The launch does not bring the new Siri AI to China, the outlets report. Instead, Apple is adding older tools, The Verge reports. They include short summaries of alerts, live translation, help with writing, and a way to remove things from photos.

Apple worked with Alibaba to support its Qwen chatbot in some features, The Verge and 9to5Mac report. 9to5Mac says users in China will get Type to Siri and can reach Qwen for certain requests. Qwen will also work in Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence, 9to5Mac says. Users can sign in to their accounts or use Sign in with Apple.

Apple Intelligence won approval in China in July, The Verge reports. Apple trained its own large language model for China, Reuters reported in August, according to The Verge.

What we know: Apple Intelligence testing in China starts on Wednesday, with a full release in December.
What we don't: When the new Siri AI will reach China.
