England's women's rugby team, the Red Roses, beat the United States 55-12 in New Jersey on Friday, The Guardian and BBC Sport report. England scored nine tries in the match, the last game of their WXV Global Series tour.

Wing Claudia Moloney-MacDonald scored four tries, the outlets report. She had been left out of the squad for England's last match against Canada, The Guardian says, and she "responded perfectly." Head coach John Mitchell praised her consistency.

The USA has not beaten England since the 1991 Rugby World Cup, and England have won all 22 matches between the teams since then, The Guardian reports. The last meeting ended 69-7 to England.

The USA came into the match with five wins in a row, the outlets report. The Americans stayed in the contest longer than in that last meeting, BBC Sport says. England led 17-7 at half-time, and Moloney-MacDonald's third and fourth tries soon after the break put the result out of doubt.

The win came after two losses to Canada over the previous two weeks, BBC Sport reports. The BBC says Mitchell still has plenty to work on before England defend their Women's Six Nations title in April.

The stands looked mostly empty at the 25,000-seat stadium, the outlets report. Organizers will hope for a better setting when the Women's Rugby World Cup comes to the USA in 2033, the BBC says.

What we know: England beat the USA 55-12, with four tries from Moloney-MacDonald.
What we don't: Who Mitchell will pick for the Six Nations in April.
