Canadian rock star Bryan Adams is releasing songs that criticize President Donald Trump's moves against Canada, The Hollywood Reporter and the Guardian report. The songs include "51st State" and his latest, "Lake Ontario," the outlets report.

Trump signed an order in August telling federal agencies to rename Lake Ontario "Lake America," the Guardian reports. In the song, Adams accuses Trump of "breaking the peace" between people on the lake's shores. One lyric says the name "Lake Ontario" is "a First Nations name, not an executive order," the outlet reports.

Trump has also put tariffs on Canadian goods and talked about making Canada the "51st state," The Hollywood Reporter reports. Adams released "51st State" on July 1, which is Canada Day, the Guardian reports.

Adams never names Trump in the interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "It's not angry. It's stating the facts," he said, the outlet reports. "If you have that much power, why would you not want to channel it for good?" He said he first played "51st State" in St. Louis this summer. He said crowds in Texas and other red states gave it a standing ovation.

The songs are on "How's It Goin'," a 12-track album about Canada due November 6, The Hollywood Reporter reports. It is his 17th studio album. Adams has called the project a "love letter" to Canada, the Guardian reports. It began when a film company asked him to write a song about Canada's East Coast.

What we know: Adams has a new album of songs about Canada, some aimed at Trump's policies.
What we don't: How the White House views the songs, if at all.
