The Kansas City Chiefs signed Justin Tucker to their practice squad Wednesday, adding competition for kicker Harrison Butker after a rough stretch, CBS Sports and ESPN report. NFL.com also reported the move. Tucker last played for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 season and turns 37 next month.

Butker has missed five of 16 field-goal tries this season, ESPN said, and also missed an extra point. In Sunday night's 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Butker missed a 58-yard try at the end of the first half and a 45-yard try in the fourth quarter, CBS Sports reported. Coach Andy Reid said after that game that Butker has been one of the most consistent kickers in football but is "off a bit." Butker remains on the 53-man roster.

Tucker is a seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XLVII champion. For his career he has made 89.1 percent of field goals. The Ravens released him in May 2025 after The Baltimore Banner reported that massage therapists accused him of sexual misconduct at Baltimore-area spas. The number of accusers later grew to 16 across eight spas, outlets reported. The NFL suspended him for the first 10 games of the 2025 season under the personal-conduct policy. He denied wrongdoing, calling the allegations "unequivocally false," ESPN reported.

Kansas City worked out three kickers this week and chose Tucker over former Rams kicker Harrison Mevis, CBS Sports said. The Chiefs visit Denver on Sunday.

What we know: The Chiefs signed Tucker to the practice squad Wednesday while Butker remains the rostered kicker after missing kicks in a 20-3 loss to Seattle.
What we don't: Whether Tucker will be elevated for a game, and whether any new league review of the past allegations is underway.
