Alexander Volkanovski defended his UFC featherweight title for the second time this year Saturday. He halted undefeated challenger Movsar Evloev at 4:54 of the second round at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi. ESPN and MMA Junkie reported the result. Volkanovski dropped Evloev with a left-right combination. He finished with ground strikes until referee Marc Goddard waved it off.

ESPN's written recap called the finish a knockout. MMA Junkie and ESPN's own video label called it a TKO. Evloev entered 20-0 in MMA and 10-0 in the UFC. He had wins over Aljamain Sterling and Diego Lopes. The loss was his first. Volkanovski improved to 29-4. He extended a three-fight winning streak that includes back-to-back title wins over Lopes.

MMA Junkie said Volkanovski passed Jose Aldo's record with nine title-fight wins. In the co-main, Petr Yan beat Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision. That kept the bantamweight title for Yan. MMA Junkie reported those scores.

Evloev had been one of the division's cleanest wrestlers before the title shot. Volkanovski's pace and power ended that streak in round two. ESPN and MMA Junkie agreed on the 4:54 mark even as they split on KO versus TKO wording. The Associated Press roundup of UFC 333 carried the same main-event result. Yan's co-main defense rounded out a big night for champions.

Title fights in Abu Dhabi often favor veterans who manage distance. Volkanovski looked sharp for a 38-year-old champion. Evloev's wrestling never took over once the left-right landed. The KO-versus-TKO wording split does not change the result or the clock. Yan's decision win kept a second belt in the champions' column.

What we know: Volkanovski halted Evloev at 4:54 of round two to retain the featherweight belt at UFC 333.
What we don't: Whether Volkanovski pursues a lightweight send-off next, as he has floated.
