Donald Trump held a midterm rally Sunday at McMorran Place in Port Huron, Michigan. He backed Senate hopeful Mike Rogers and governor hopeful John James, CNN and Fox News Digital reported. The stop came a day after Barack Obama spoke in Detroit for Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Jocelyn Benson.

Trump opened with a hard line. He said he was there to keep a "jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member" from becoming a US senator, CNN reported. Fox News Digital said he also used Truth Social before the event. In that post he called El-Sayed a jihadist tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. CNN called that jihadist label false. David Beamer, father of Flight 93 victim Todd Beamer, spoke too. He charged El-Sayed with Muslim Brotherhood ties, Fox News Digital reported. El-Sayed was born in Michigan. He has denounced the Muslim Brotherhood. He has denied the claims. The Associated Press called the GOP allegations unsubstantiated. CNN also reported his denials. Democrats say the attacks hit his Muslim faith and Egyptian roots, the Associated Press said.

Trump also warned the crowd to watch "cheating vote counters." He named Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who is running for governor, CNN reported. CNN said he gave no proof. CNN also said he falsely claimed he had won Michigan three times. Nicki Minaj flew in on Air Force One and sat near the stage, CNN and Fox News Digital reported.

Rogers spoke before Trump. He again linked El-Sayed to the Muslim Brotherhood, the Associated Press reported. On NBC's Meet the Press, Rogers addressed his past remark about working with "moderate Muslim Brotherhood individuals," CNN said. El-Sayed has said he faces the same dual-loyalty smear once used against John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama, CNN reported.

What we know: Trump rallied Sunday in Port Huron for Rogers and James. He attacked El-Sayed with jihadist and Muslim Brotherhood claims that El-Sayed denies. Beamer echoed the Brotherhood charge. Trump also cast doubt on Michigan vote counting.
What we don't: Whether the Port Huron attacks move the close Michigan Senate race before Election Day. It is also unclear whether Rogers and Trump stay aligned on tariffs and Canada.
