President Donald Trump said Thursday that Elon Musk has restored Ukraine's access to Starlink, according to the BBC, DW and The Hill.

Ukraine's military relies on Starshield, a military version of Musk's Starlink satellite network, the BBC and DW reported. Slower speeds had hurt Ukraine's ability to use drones, the BBC said.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump called Musk and asked him to lift the limits, the outlets said. Trump would not say whether he made the call.

"Whether I called or whether somebody else called, doesn't make any difference," Trump said, according to The Hill. "I guess the bottom line — he put it back."

Officials said Trump was frustrated the speeds were still capped at about 100 mph, The Hill reported, citing the Journal. The BBC said it had not confirmed the Journal's report.

Earlier Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the speed had not been fully restored, the BBC reported. "We are working on it," he said, according to the BBC.

Kyiv had not yet confirmed that the limits were lifted, DW reported early Friday.

Musk has denied he was behind the slowdown, the BBC reported. Musk had said limits on Starshield were "decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS," DW reported.

The Trump administration has denied telling Musk's company to restrict access, the BBC said. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday that the access was governed by a private contract, The Hill reported.

Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said Thursday he had opened an inquiry, DW reported.

The limits came as Trump pressed Zelensky to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries, the BBC reported.

What we know: Trump says Musk restored Ukraine's Starlink access.
What we don't: Who ordered the slowdown, and whether Ukraine's full speed is back.
