U2 will headline the halftime show at the NFL's first Thanksgiving Eve game, according to Variety and an announcement on the band's website. The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Wednesday, November 25, with kickoff at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Netflix will stream the game live to its members around the world. The NFL calls the halftime show "a new NFL holiday tradition," Variety reported.

The show is meant to mark 50 years of the band playing together, according to the announcement on U2.com, which said it will feature special guests. The band has not said who those guests will be.

"There's a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they don't just perform, they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever," Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said in a statement.

U2 has played a big football halftime show before. The band performed at Super Bowl XXXVI in February 2002, and the band's website noted that it is returning to a Rams game. Jesse Collins Entertainment is producing the Thanksgiving Eve show for Netflix and the NFL, Variety reported.

The game will come shortly after U2 releases "Carnaval De Luz," its first album of new songs in nine years. The band's website says the album comes out November 13 and that a world tour opens in February.

Netflix and the NFL have been building up halftime shows outside the Super Bowl. Beyoncé headlined Netflix's Christmas Day game in 2024, and Snoop Dogg led a show in 2025 with Lainey Wilson, Huntr/X and Andrea Bocelli, according to Variety. No Christmas halftime show has been announced for this year, the magazine said.
