The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 at Progressive Field on Saturday, October 17, ESPN and Sports Illustrated reported. The win tied the American League Championship Series at two games each, ESPN and ClutchPoints reported.

Cleveland scored first. Chase DeLauter singled home Steven Kwan in the first inning, ESPN's play-by-play shows. Tampa Bay tied it in the third, when Jonathan Aranda singled home Yandy Díaz, the play-by-play shows.

The game stayed tied until the sixth. Junior Caminero doubled to left field to score Aranda and give the Rays a 2-1 lead, the play-by-play shows. Sports Illustrated reported that Caminero had been 2 for 11 in the first three games of the series.

The Rays pulled away in the seventh. With two runners on base, Aranda singled to right field. Both runners scored on the play, one on an error and one on a fielding error by DeLauter, and Aranda went to third, the play-by-play shows. Chandler Simpson then hit a sacrifice fly to score Aranda for a 5-1 lead.

"Put that one on me," DeLauter said after the game, ESPN reported.

Cleveland got two runs back in the bottom of the seventh. Travis Bazzana hit a solo home run, and Brayan Rocchio added a run-scoring single, the play-by-play shows. Díaz hit a two-run home run in the ninth to close the scoring.

Rays starter Nick Martinez gave up one run on two hits over five and one-third innings, walking two and striking out three, the play-by-play shows. Sports Illustrated and ClutchPoints reported the same pitching line.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said he still likes where his team stands. "We're great. We're right in it. We're even," Vogt said, ClutchPoints reported.

Game 5 is Sunday at Progressive Field, and the series then moves to Tampa Bay for Game 6 on Monday and a possible Game 7, ClutchPoints reported. The winner will face the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series, ClutchPoints reported.
