Nurses in Teamsters Local 332 have voted to ratify the final contract offer from Henry Ford Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, ending a strike that lasted 411 days, ABC12, Michigan Public and MLive reported. The hospital announced the vote in a statement on Friday, Michigan Public reported.

The strike began on Labor Day, September 1, 2025, Michigan Public reported. On Friday night, striking nurses packed up and went home, leaving behind signs, chairs and tents outside the hospital, ABC12 reported.

The three-year contract includes a 13% wage increase and new pay rates for weekend and off-shift work, ABC12 reported. It keeps the nurse-to-patient staffing ratios from earlier Teamsters Local 332 contracts and seniority rights for every striking member, ABC12 reported. A union official said the decision came after more than 100 bargaining sessions, Michigan Public reported.

"It was clear that the parties were not going to reach a mutual agreement on some of the core issues that remained," Teamsters Local 332 President Dan Glass said, according to ABC12 and Michigan Public. "Our nurses felt it was time to continue advocating for their patients at the bedside while preserving their ability to have Teamsters protection throughout this agreement," he said.

"We're thrilled at the prospect of welcoming our valued team members back to work," Gwen Sandefur, the hospital's interim president, said in a statement. Henry Ford Health said 350 nurses worked through the strike or joined after it began. In recent weeks, some members had asked the National Labor Relations Board to review a request to remove the Teamsters as their union, and a hearing set for this week was postponed, Michigan Public reported.

The hospital and the union will now negotiate the terms of the nurses' return to work, ABC12 and Michigan Public reported.
