Sean Combs moved from Fort Dix to Allenwood Low prison in Pennsylvania
Sean "Diddy" Combs has been moved from a federal prison in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, the BBC and ABC News reported Friday. The Bureau of Prisons confirmed he is now at Allenwood Low but did not say why. Combs is serving a 50-month sentence for two prostitution-related crimes.
Sean "Diddy" Combs was moved Friday from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, the BBC and ABC News reported. "We can confirm that Sean Combs is currently incarcerated at FCI Allenwood Low," the Bureau of Prisons said, according to ABC News. The bureau said it does not discuss reasons for transfers, citing privacy, safety and security, ABC reported. A prison official also declined to say why he was moved, the BBC reported.
"His transfer from one low-security facility to another is an important distinction," Combs' spokesman, Juda Engelmayer, said, according to the BBC. He said the move "is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind," the BBC reported. "Decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer," a representative for Combs said in a statement, according to ABC News. The representative added that Combs "remains focused on moving forward," ABC reported.
The move follows reports about his time at Fort Dix. Combs reportedly had access to cellphones, liquor and other contraband at Fort Dix and allegedly paid inmates to cook, clean and give him massages, the BBC reported, citing an NBC News report from about two weeks ago. He was also reportedly involved in two fights, the BBC reported, citing NBC News. "It's because of the disruptive behaviour," Jose Rojas, union secretary for local federal prison employees, said of the move, the BBC reported, citing NBC News. The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the reports, the BBC reported, and it has not given a reason for the transfer.
Combs was briefly taken to a hospital for a head injury last weekend, according to multiple sources cited by ABC News.
Combs lost 41 days of good-conduct credit, the BBC reported, citing NBC News. Prison records now list his release date as March 2, 2028, the BBC and ABC reported.
FCI Allenwood Low, about 155 miles west of New York City, holds about 1,044 inmates by its own count, far fewer than the more than 4,200 at Fort Dix, the BBC reported.
Combs, 56, was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, the BBC reported. He was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in prison, the BBC reported. A federal appeals court heard arguments in his appeal in April but has not ruled, the BBC reported.
What we know: Combs is now held at FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, and the Bureau of Prisons has confirmed the move.
What we don't: Why he was moved, whether the reported problems at Fort Dix played a role, and when the appeals court will rule.
Where outlets agree The BBC and ABC News both report that Combs was moved from Fort Dix to FCI Allenwood Low and that the Bureau of Prisons confirmed the move without giving a reason.
