Top-ranked Georgia expects Nate Frazier back for Saturday's game with Auburn
Top-ranked Georgia hosts Auburn on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, and running back Nate Frazier is expected to return from a rib injury, the AP reported. Georgia is 6-0 and has won nine straight games in the series. Auburn has not won in Athens since 2005.
No. 1 Georgia is expected to have starting running back Nate Frazier back for Saturday's game against Auburn, The Associated Press reported. Kickoff at Sanford Stadium in Athens is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, according to Georgia's official game page, which lists the game as sold out.
Frazier dressed for last week's 20-17 win at Alabama but was held out after more trouble with a rib injury, the AP said. His top backup, Chauncey Bowens, is listed as out again with a calf injury.
Georgia (6-0, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) leaned on Dwight "Peanut" Phillips Jr. at Alabama. Phillips ran for 120 yards and Bo Walker added 69 as Georgia ran for 206 yards, the AP reported. Georgia averages 211.8 rushing yards a game, fourth in the SEC.
Coach Kirby Smart praised Phillips' "vision, his unique toughness for his size, and his speed," according to the AP. Auburn coach Alex Golesh called Georgia "a really complete offense" with a "deep running back room," the AP said.
Auburn comes in 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the SEC, Field Level Media reported. Georgia leads the series 66-56-8 and has won nine straight meetings, which ties its longest streak in the rivalry, Field Level Media said. A 10th straight win would set a new mark in a series that dates to 1892, and this is the 131st meeting.
Smart is 10-1 against Auburn as Georgia's coach, according to Field Level Media. Auburn will be without linebacker Xavier Atkins, and the Tigers have not won in Athens since 2005, Field Level Media reported.
