Microsoft unveils pocket-sized $49.99 Xbox Nano controller
Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano, a small $49.99 game controller that fits in a pocket, The Verge and Engadget reported. It works with Xbox consoles, PCs, phones and some smart TVs. Pre-orders are open, and it ships in the U.S. on Nov. 4, Engadget reported.
Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano Controller, a smaller and cheaper gamepad designed to fit in a pocket, The Verge, Engadget and Polygon reported.
The $49.99 controller is Microsoft's smallest yet, at just over five inches long, The Verge reported. It weighs 3.5 ounces, Engadget and Polygon reported. The standard Xbox Wireless Controller starts at $64.99 and weighs about 10 ounces, Polygon reported.
Microsoft says the Nano is designed for "younger players, smaller hands, or anyone seeking something portable for play on the go," The Verge and Polygon reported.
The controller has all the regular buttons found on a standard Xbox controller, The Verge reported. It connects to Xbox consoles through Xbox Wireless, and to phones, tablets and PCs through Bluetooth. It also works with some smart TVs, Engadget reported.
Unlike most Xbox controllers, the Nano has a built-in rechargeable battery and doesn't need AA batteries, The Verge reported. It charges through USB-C, Polygon reported. A programmable Action Button can be set to take screenshots or record gameplay, The Verge and Engadget reported.
Pre-orders are open now at Amazon, Walmart and Microsoft, The Verge reported. The controller ships in the U.S. on Nov. 4 and will reach 35 other countries next month, Engadget reported. Each account can buy up to five controllers per order, Polygon reported.
Samsung will bundle the controller with two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new subscribers who buy select TVs in the U.S. this holiday season, Engadget and Polygon reported. A similar deal is planned for Meta Quest headsets, Engadget reported.
