Aurobindo Pharma USA started the voluntary recall on Sept. 18, according to a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, USA Today reported. The recall covers 112,932 bottles of 500 mg acetaminophen sold through Amazon. It was listed in a recent FDA weekly enforcement report.
The FDA has not yet given the recall a classification showing the level of health risk, USA Today and UPI reported. The recall began after customers complained about discolored tablets, USA Today reported.
Amazon told USA Today that the recall was done in "coordination with the manufacturer, Aurohealth, and the FDA." Aurobindo did not immediately respond to USA Today's request for comment.
