The Buffalo Bills beat the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in overtime on Monday night after a blocked field goal gave them one more chance, the AP reported.

Early in overtime, Buffalo drove deep into Rams territory before Nate Landman punched the ball loose from James Cook, and Aaron Donald recovered. Matthew Stafford drove the Rams to the Buffalo 30, but Greg Rousseau got a hand on Harrison Mevis's 48-yard field goal try, The Buffalo News reported.

Josh Allen then made scrambles of 19 and 13 yards to set up Tyler Bass, who made a 45-yard field goal with 1:55 left. Allen finished with 331 total yards, passing for 210 and running for 121, and it was the first overtime win of his career.

"That's the beautiful thing about football: You get another drive," Allen said, the AP reported.

The fourth quarter was wild, and NFL.com counted six lead changes and 890 combined yards in the game. Cook scored his second touchdown with 1:39 left in regulation, but Stafford then drove Los Angeles to the Buffalo 1, and Kyren Williams scored with 4 seconds left to force overtime.

Stafford threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns, while Puka Nacua caught a career-high 17 passes for 138 yards. Davante Adams caught two touchdown passes and tied Larry Fitzgerald for sixth in NFL history with 121 scoring catches.

Rams coach Sean McVay blamed his kicking units for the loss. "It cost us the game tonight," he told reporters, the AP reported. He also regretted a conservative third-down call before the miss, and Mevis has now missed three field goals this season, the most in the league.

The teams have the NFL's last two MVPs at quarterback, and when they last met, in December 2024, the Rams won 44-42 as the teams combined for 902 yards. Buffalo is 4-1 for the sixth time in eight seasons but the first under rookie head coach Joe Brady. The Bills visit Las Vegas on Sunday, and the 2-3 Rams host Arizona.

What we know: Buffalo won 37-34 in overtime after Rousseau's block and Bass's 45-yard kick.
What we don't: How long the Bills will be without right tackle Spencer Brown, who left with a back injury.
