Musician Geordie Greep has canceled much of his North American tour after an allegation of sexual assault, which he denies.

The 27-year-old former frontman of the British rock band Black Midi was about to take the stage in Vancouver on Thursday when flyers with the accusation were handed out to the audience, The Independent reported, citing Rolling Stone.

At a show on Oct. 8, Greep took the stage without his usual band and addressed what happened, Far Out Magazine reported. "So essentially what happened last night, me and some of the band we went out to some bars, we went out, we met people, and it ended up in a situation really late at a house party," he said.

As of Oct. 10, his shows in Boise, Salt Lake City, Boulder, Denver and Omaha were listed as canceled or had disappeared from venue websites, Pitchfork reported. One remaining U.S. show, in Des Moines, was still on the schedule, as was a short European run in November.

Greep has not released a statement about the cancellations. Pitchfork said it had asked his representatives for comment.

Black Midi was known for its wild, complex experimental rock and earned acclaim from critics. The band was nominated for Britain's Mercury Prize. Greep announced in 2024 that the band had gone on hiatus, and he began a solo career. His solo album, "The New Sound," drew strong reviews.

Fans online were divided. Some called for accountability, while others urged people to wait for more facts.

No criminal charges have been reported.
