Thursday's episode of The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One made history. For the first time on the UK show, a Traitor was caught at the very first Round Table, Digital Spy reported. That Traitor was the actor Richard E Grant.

Grant had made things hard for himself. In the season premiere, he openly told some fellow players he was a Traitor. Most of them thought he was joking, and he later called it "the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life," Digital Spy reported.

This time the players did not miss. Digital Spy and the Daily Mail reported that Grant received 16 of the 20 votes, though The Independent put his total at 18. "I have been annihilated," he said. "I have managed to checkmate myself." Host Claudia Winkleman told the group, "This has never happened before." The Daily Mail said viewers loved Ross Kemp's reaction, as he pounded the table and yelled "get in there."

His fellow Traitors, Maya Jama and James Acaster, then recruited mathematician Hannah Fry to join them. The Mirror reported that Fry wore a smart ring that showed her stress peaked during the night's second Round Table. Miranda Hart already appears to suspect her.

That second Round Table sent home Industry star Myha'la, who is a Faithful. Julie Hesmondhalgh read Myha'la's wink to Grant as a giveaway. "It was traitor-on-traitor," she said, the BBC reported. Myha'la said the wink was "just for Richard" and had nothing to do with the game. She also admitted that all five of her guesses about the Traitors were wrong.

The episode ended with the Traitors choosing James Blunt, Bella Ramsey and Sebastian Croft as possible murder targets. Broadcaster Amol Rajan was the first player murdered this season, the Ipswich Star reported.

The series started October 1 with 21 celebrities playing for charity. It airs Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. UK time on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

What we know: Grant and Myha'la are out, and Hannah Fry is now a Traitor.

What we don't: Which of the three marked players the Traitors will murder in Friday's episode.
