The Baltimore Ravens are taking Lamar Jackson's ankle day by day. Jackson missed practice Wednesday, three days after spraining his left ankle in a win over Tennessee, and coach Jesse Minter would not rule him out for Sunday night's game at Atlanta, the Ravens' website and The Baltimore Banner reported.

"It's Wednesday, there's a lot of time between now and Sunday," Minter said. "There will be a point later in the week when we'll figure out where it's at."

Minter said a player of Jackson's experience could play without a full week of practice. "He's in that category based on everything that he's accomplished," he said.

Jackson hurt the ankle on a sack late in the second quarter of the 24-18 win over the Titans. He sat out the second half and left the stadium in a protective boot, the Banner said. Before he left, he had gone 15-for-20 for 222 yards and two touchdowns.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Jackson has only an outside chance to play and could miss more than one game. Rapoport said the sprain is not considered long-term and will not need surgery.

If Jackson sits, Tyler Huntley starts. Huntley went 2-0 as a starter last season and is 5-6 in his Ravens career. He was 8-for-9 for 63 yards in relief against Tennessee, as Baltimore's offense managed only 116 yards after halftime. "We have a lot of confidence in 'Snoop'," Minter said, using Huntley's nickname.

Rookie Joe Fagnano is the third quarterback on the practice field.

The Falcons are a tough draw. They have won two straight after an 0-2 start, and they rank eighth in defensive efficiency, according to FTN data cited by the Banner.

Baltimore has other injuries too. Tight end Durham Smythe went on injured reserve with a season-ending Achilles injury. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, cornerback Marlon Humphrey and pass rusher Trey Hendrickson also missed Wednesday's practice, though Minter said Humphrey avoided a long-term injury.

The team's injury reports Thursday and Friday will show whether Jackson returns to practice.

What we know: Jackson has a sprained ankle and missed Wednesday's practice.
What we don't: Whether he will practice this week or play Sunday.
