The Atlanta Dream are one win away from the WNBA Finals.

Atlanta beat the New York Liberty 101-98 in overtime on Wednesday night to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinal, according to ESPN's box score and Yahoo Sports. The Dream won without Allisha Gray, their leading scorer, who sat out with a left hand injury from Game 1.

The game went back and forth all night. Atlanta led 75-74 after three quarters, and the teams were tied 88-88 at the end of regulation. Marine Fauthoux hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds to force overtime, Yahoo reported.

In overtime, a Breanna Stewart layup gave New York a 98-97 lead with about 34 seconds left, but Naz Hillmon's layup put Atlanta back ahead 99-98 with 20.8 seconds to go. Sabrina Ionescu then turned the ball over with 6.5 seconds left. Angel Reese was fouled and made both free throws for a 101-98 lead, and Stewart missed a long 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Reese finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Jordin Canada also scored 23 and had eight assists. Rhyne Howard added 18 points, and Isobel Borlase scored 11 off the bench.

Stewart led New York with 35 points and 11 rebounds. Jonquel Jones scored 21 on 8-of-11 shooting. She stayed in the game late after New York won a replay challenge on what would have been her sixth foul, Yahoo said.

New York reached this round as the No. 8 seed by knocking out top-seeded Minnesota. Atlanta swept Washington in the first round and won Game 1 of this series 92-82 on Sunday. The Dream are in the semifinals for the first time since 2018.

How to watch: Game 3 is Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET in New York on ESPN2. In the other semifinal, Golden State, up 1-0, hosted defending champion Las Vegas in Game 2 on Wednesday night at Chase Center.

What we know: Atlanta can clinch a spot in the Finals with a win on Friday.
What we don't: Whether Gray will be healthy enough to play in Game 3.
