Kylie Jenner is moving from reality TV to scripted drama. Hulu is finalizing a straight-to-series order for a thriller with the working title Bachelorette Weekend, with Jenner set to star, Deadline reported in an exclusive. TheWrap said the series "nears" an order.

The story starts with a death. Jenner would play a bride who is found murdered in a pool during her bachelorette weekend, and her friends all become suspects, according to Deadline.

The series is created and written by Lauren Oliver and is based on an unpublished book by Flora Collins. It comes from Kapital Entertainment, run by Aaron and Jaiden Kaplan, along with 20th Television, Disney's TV studio. Jenner's sister Kim Kardashian would be an executive producer through her first-look deal, Deadline said.

The deal is not done yet. Deadline said the terms were still being negotiated, and Hulu declined to comment, according to TheWrap.

This would be Jenner's first major acting role. She recently made a cameo in The Moment, Charli xcx's film from the studio A24, Deadline said.

A "straight-to-series" order means Hulu would commit to a full season without first making a test episode, or pilot.

The family is also back on Hulu this week. The Kardashians returns for Season 8 on Thursday, Oct. 8, Deadline noted.

How to watch: Bachelorette Weekend has no release date yet, while new episodes of The Kardashians stream on Hulu starting Thursday.

What we know: Hulu is close to ordering the series, and Jenner is attached to star.
What we don't: When filming starts and who else joins the cast.
