No. 4 Miami stayed unbeaten with a 41-13 road win over Clemson on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. Darian Mensah threw for 227 yards and a touchdown, added a 34-yard scoring run, and Mark Fletcher Jr. rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns as the Hurricanes improved to 5-0 and 3-0 in the ACC.

Cooper Barkate caught five passes for 98 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown on Miami's second play. Clemson (3-2, 2-1) entered as a 17 1/2-point home underdog — the largest spread of the Dabo Swinney era — and absorbed one of its worst losses under the longtime coach. Freshman Tait Reynolds threw for a career-high 295 yards but was sacked six times and threw a pick-six.

Miami outgained Clemson 192-55 on the ground after halftime and answered Clemson's only touchdown with an all-run scoring drive. Mensah said the Hurricanes left points on the board after an illegal shift wiped out a long touchdown, but coach Mario Cristobal praised his quarterback's command with arm and legs.

Backstory: Miami started 5-0 for a second straight season and now sits alone atop the ACC. Clemson must clean up 10 penalties for 91 yards and protect Reynolds before both clubs return Oct. 17 — Clemson vs. Charleston Southern, Miami vs. Florida State.

Where to watch: Recaps and highlights on ESPN and conference feeds; next AP Top 25 update will show how far the blowout moves the poll.

What we know:
Final is Miami 41, Clemson 13. Miami is 5-0 and alone in first in the ACC. Both teams are off next week.

What we don't:
How much the AP poll shifts Miami or drops Clemson until ballots post, and whether Clemson's line settles before mid-October.

The score is locked by AP and ESPN. Poll churn is the Sunday hangover story — the result on the field is not.
