Wisconsin beat No. 13 Penn State 24-20 at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, completing a 17-point comeback in the Big Ten opener for both sides. The Badgers trailed 17-0 before Colton Joseph’s seven-yard rushing touchdown late in the first half cut the deficit to 17-7. A Gavin Lahm field goal made it 17-10, but Penn State answered with a late third-quarter kick for a 20-10 lead entering the fourth.

Wisconsin scored twice in the final 3:31. Joseph hit Eugene Hilton Jr. for an 11-yard touchdown at 3:31, then found tight end Jacob Harris on a 72-yard strike with 1:13 left for the go-ahead score. Cornerback Javan Robinson’s pass breakups on the final Penn State drive, including one in the end zone, helped seal it. Wisconsin Athletics listed the Badgers at 3-1 and 1-0 in the Big Ten; Penn State fell to 3-1 and 0-1.

NBC Sports and the AP wrap noted it was Wisconsin’s first win in State College since 2003, its first road win over a ranked foe since Purdue in 2021, and the end of a six-game losing streak to the Nittany Lions. Joseph finished with 235 passing yards, two touchdown throws, three interceptions, and the rushing score; Harris had five catches for 105 yards. Penn State Athletics stressed early takeaways, including freshman Josiah Zayas’ 51-yard interception return for a touchdown, before the late collapse after the Lions led 20-10.
