Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has a concussion after a targeting hit in Saturday's game at USC, sources told CBS Sports on Sunday. He is believed to have avoided further injury beyond the concussion and will go through concussion protocol, with no immediate return timeline.

The hit came early in the second quarter at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Moore tucked on a rush into the USC red zone, slid, and was struck in the head by Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens II. Stephens was ejected for targeting. University of Oregon Athletics reported that team medical staff raced to stabilize Moore amid a melee on the field as some Trojans players celebrated. Moore left on a stretcher and by ambulance. NBC's broadcast said he had movement in his extremities. Coach Dan Lanning confirmed postgame that Moore was moving and in recovery, while withholding other details pending evaluation.

"It's a disgusting play," Lanning said in Oregon Athletics' game wrap. "There's a reason targeting exists in football, and it's as clear as day targeting."

Backup Dylan Raiola entered with Oregon trailing 7-3 and led a 41-27 road win — the Ducks' fifth straight over USC. Raiola completed 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Evan Stewart and Dakorien Moore caught scoring passes; Dierre Hill and Jordon Davison added rushing touchdowns. Players said they reset and played for Moore after the scare.

Moore completed 8 of 10 passes for 77 yards before exiting. A projected first-round NFL Draft pick who returned for another college season, he had thrown for 926 yards and nine touchdowns while completing 69.7% of his passes through Oregon's 3-1 start, per CBS Sports.

Oregon enters a bye week before games against UCLA and Nebraska. Raiola — a Nebraska transfer and former five-star — is expected to start while Moore works through protocol. CBS Sports says he is expected to return this season; Oregon Athletics has not issued a separate medical bulletin beyond Lanning's postgame remarks and the program's game account.
